The iPod Touch 5G does not seem to have great chances of being released in early 2012, and in fact there is a huge probability that the device could be delayed further into the second half of next year.
The original views of many experts, following the launch of the updated version of iPhone 4 as well as that of the iPod Touch 4G, that Apple had the vision of launching all its important new products almost simultaneously; the iPod Touch 5G was among these expected devices.
However, the newer assumption is shifting towards the thought that the iPod Touch 5G would now be launched together with the iPhone 5. Then again, the iPod 3, according to experts, should be ready for its launch by March 2012.
The question on everyone’s mind now is: What impact does the date (read March 2012) scheduled for iPod 3 launch do to the launching plans of the iPod Touch 5G and the iPhone 5?
It now looks like that Apple would be targeting the summer months of 2012 for the launching of these two products and the earliest that we can hope to see them in the market would be sometime between April and May of 2012.
However, this launch date could be moved behind even further if another factor is considered, the sales figures of the iPhone 4S is expected to touch the figure of 20 million units before December 2011, which would make it the highest seller in iPhone category as on date.
Heading into 2012, if the sales figures of the iPhone 4S do take a plunge, this could result in Apple taking the decision of bringing forward the release dates for the iPod Touch 5G as well as the iPhone 5.
Consumers will be further updated once access to Apple’s sales figures is obtained, as the release dates would definitely be impacted by this information.
