Although Facebook might be embroiled in the major controversy regarding its IPO issue and its founder Mark Zuckerberg’s relationship with his investors, the social-networking company is trying to carry on with its day-to-day business normally. And now, it has announced a new Facebook app that is all about the camera – the Facebook Camera app.

Facebook had announced the purchase of the photo sharing app Instagram only two months back and is now trying to step up its efforts in the photo-sharing area. The Facebook Camera app is a dedicated camera app and is available for iPhone and iPod Touch. The app simplifies users’ interaction with their Facebook photos and allows them to easily upload photos from their phones.

Users can also view their photos or their friends’ photos and can easily share the photos that they take from their iPhone. The app also offers several editing features like crop, rotate and lets users add filters to any picture in their camera roll.

The Facebook Camera app’s features resemble those of Instagram, which is actually a popular standalone app for iPhones and Android-powered phones. Although Facebook has announced that it is acquiring Instagram, the deal is yet to be closed.

The Facebook Camera app is available for free and can be downloaded from the App Store.
