iPod Touch 5G was given a green signal by Apple this Monday, also surprising consumers with an unexpectedly lower pricing plan.

The iPod Touch with 8GB capacity is now available at a price of $199 instead of $229. In the year 2010, the deal that was considered the best in the market for owing the iPod Touch 4G with 8GB capacity on Black Friday was $199 and that too without a gift card.

The newer iPod has miniscule hardware changes compared to the previous model. The only visible changes are that the product is available in white and also comes with iOS 5.

Considering the fact that Apple has not offered much with regards to changes, there are speculations in the market that the new iPod Touch could have its pricing set set at a much lower rate. During Black Friday, the price is expected to be perhaps reduced to as much as $149 and that too without gift card.

Apple has been planning towards increasing tremendously its revenue stream in the course of the holiday season. This has given weightage to the thought amongst the price watchers that Apple, with its incredibly low pricing of this product, wants to make it irresistable to customers.
