Orbitz updates its app for iPhone, iPod Touch

Travel website Orbitz has recently announced the release of a major update its app for the iOS-based devices, such as the iPhone, bringing several new features and enhancements to the popular app.

The update has added speed improvements, more efficient sort and filtering capacities along with new mapping tools that promises better highlight exclusive, mobile-only Orbitz Flights, Hotels, Cars discounts.

Separately, a newly released consumer usability research tested top travel apps, mobile websites and desktop sites, and concluded that the newly updated Orbitz app to be the easiest as well as the quickest way to look for and book a whole trip.

The new Orbitz app claims to be more than twice as quick as other iPhone rivals and also quicker than rival travel apps available on Android platform.

Cent percent of consumers lucratively finished the study tasks on the Orbitz app as compared with a cumulative 40 percent failure rate on rival app experiences.

Jeffrey Breen, an analyst with the Atmosphere Research Group, said, “As I observed more than eight hours of testing, I was struck by the ease of use for the new Orbitz iPhone app & how study participants were able to maneuver through the booking process so quickly.”
