If you own an iPod Touch or an iPhone and have been waiting for an affordable pico projector to go with your phone, your wait may be finally over. Pop Video has come out with a pico projector that comes with a 30-pin connector where you can dock your iOS device, letting you project all that you see on your display on to a bigger screen.
The Pop Video pico projector measures at 4.4 x 1.8 x 0.6 inches and weighs around 97 grams. It is compatible with the third and fourth generations of the iPod Touch in addition to iPhone 4 and 4S and requires iOS 5 or above. The iOS accessory gives a qHD 960 x 540 pixel resolution video output and ships with a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that affords a runtime of up to 2-hours after a full charge. The Pop Video pico projector can be charged through microUSB and takes around four hours for a full charge.
The light engine in the device uses FLCOS microdisplay technology which is claimed to be better in energy efficiency and a lot more affordable to manufacture, thus making the device affordable.
If you want to tweak around with the settings of the Pop Video pico projector, you can do so with the free iOS app which is available at iTunes.
The Pop Video pico projector is the cheapest of its kind and can be pre-ordered for an affordable $99.
