iPod fans can now have waterproof iPods from Underwater Audio. The whole thing includes an iPod Shuffle which cost $175 and a pair of waterproof headphones. The original iPod Shuffle is a little product which one can get for $49. It has 2 GB of storage space and can store about 400 songs. The battery with its full charge will last for about 15 hours.
The iPod has simple controls for use and comes with an USB connection. Underwater Audio takes the standard iPod shuffle from Apple and adds additional features to make it waterproof. It seems that the phone gets sealed in a better way and gaskets get added around the earphone jack and shuffle wheel.
Some coating is applied to the iPod to make it waterproof. The users of the waterproof iPod can unplug the headphones underwater and there will be no water coming inside. Underwater Audio packs the waterproof iPod shuffle with a underwater headphone pair from Pyle Audio. These headphones are available in three sizes of in-canal ear-buds which can be used for different ear sizes.
There is an outside-the-canal ear-bud also. There are inline hooks to keep the ear-buds safely. It is really great to see an electronic gadget working fine in water.
