The snapguide app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad will be powered by Nuance Communication’s voice dictation feature. Nuance claimed that the Snapguide is the latest app which integrates Nuance voice technology via Dragon mobile SDK and the NDEV developer program. The app allows the people to dictate the text for the visual subtitles.

Integration of the Dragon voice app with the Snapguide app allows users to speak up the text along with the elements of their own ‘how to’ guide. Snapguide is available for free at Apple’s App store.

The main aim behind the Snapguide is to root in the ability to show, create and share simple step by step instructions for anything and everything. With the integration of the dragon voice technology, people will be able to create guide and can share them in the easiest possible way, just by speaking.

It allows people to communicate with their devices and apps. NDEV has empowered the social app developers to deliver this amazing experience to the user. The Nuance’s Dragon mobile SDK allows developers to bring voice recognition and voice to text abilities to some of the most popular apps available in the market.

Wow. It seems that modern app technology is driving the industry more and more to hands free applications. I can definately see the need for the app industry to cater more to the “accessability” market… which will also open doors for brick and mortar business to integrate much more seamlessly into the online world.

Be interesting to see where this kind of technology leads. Anything that is voice-recognition now-a-days still seems to be taken with a grain of salt though. A lot of that has to do with the inadequate and clunky programs that came out 10 years ago.
