A customized version of Apple’s iOS 5 has come out. This is basically a solution for people who are using first and second generation Apple devices like iPod and iPhone, and for the people who have difficulties in running iOS 5 on their old generation hardware.
The solution for all these difficulties is Whited00r 5.1. This new software is compatible to all iPods and everything that came after the original iPhone. Whited00r 5.1 also comes with all the latest features that are available in iOS, like reminders, multitasking and an iCloud that uses drop box as back end, news stand, home-screen folders and customized screen backgrounds. However, app store is not available in this software.
Whited00r 5.1 is free of cost. It can be installed by using iTunes. It is as simple as restoring of normal Apple software. Though this is an unofficial version, nothing bad reported so far on this software. However, installing unknown software on your iPod or iPhone may have security risks. So, one has to be little careful before installing it.

Just one quick question: i’m thinking in buying an IPod Touch, should i buy the current model or wait for the new one? Do you have knowledge of a possible release date for the IPod Touch 5?
